Distributor Takeback Scheme (DTS)

  • This scheme is for any retailers who sell electrical products for household use
  • All distributors are required to register with the DTI appointed Distributor Take back Scheme.

Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS)

  • This scheme is for businesses that manufacture, import or sell their own brand of products that require electricity (mains or battery) to perform its main function.
  • By registering with a PCS producers pass the responsibility to the scheme that will organise collections of WEEE on behalf of its members.
  • Producers will be required to pay the costs of collecting and processing WEEE in line with the Environment Agency standards.
  • Recycle Wales is working with DHL and can help you register with the scheme
