2024 Changes

Changes are coming to workplace recycling regulations, let’s get it sorted!

Starting from April 6, 2024, it will be mandatory for all businesses, charities, and public sector organizations to sort their waste for recycling. This requirement extends to waste and recycling collectors and processors handling household-like waste from workplaces. The Welsh Government is implementing this legislation to enhance the quality and quantity of waste collection and separation efforts.

Materials requiring separation for collection include food, paper and card, glass, metal, plastic, cartons, unsold textiles, and unsold small waste electrical and electronic equipment. Businesses, charities, and public sector organizations are obligated to comply with these regulations by separating their waste accordingly.

General Waste

Divert your waste from landfill and reduce your waste management costs.

General Waste bins are required for all non-recyclable waste. Typically, products might include food contaminated products, sweepings, crisp packets, plastic bags, some types of plastic and more. We send your general waste for disposal at Energy from Waste facilities. This allows you to increase your environmental goals by diverting waste away from landfill.

Our collection flexibility means we can increase or decrease collections as required. We’ll talk to you and your team and work out a suitable collection schedule that will suit you, whether it’s weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
